To your point 3, are we sure it's the same guy who shows up at debates as the one who slurs his way through rallies and the guy who can't hit the fairway off the tee at his own golf course? Has anyone done a forensic analysis of photos from various settings? Does Grampa Trump in his golf outfit look anything like the short-haired guy on stage in Philadelphia? I don't think so!

True. Wouldn't really be shocking to learn he has a much more able-bodied body double that goes out to debate.

On the question of will the debate affect the election, there may be one more factor to consider: will Trump's awful debate loss possibly demoralize some of his supporters to the extent that they might not bother to vote? Remember, his whole brand is built on "winning." At some point, some of his supporters might conclude that he is incapable of delivering the goods.

Great point. And likely exactly why he desperately is trying to spin it as a win for him, instead of the humiliating loss that it was.

You know who was not surprised in the least? Black women. They have been underrated their entire working lives and know they have to do better than average to be considered barely average.

It definitely showed in that debate, didn't it?

Sounds about right. As for why we hadn’t been told about Harris’ talents, note her gender, multiracial status, and she’s a Democrat. It’s not just gender: the political press loves Nikki Haley, but hates all female Democrats. The story about staffers leaving is especially revealing: behavior that would be lauded from a male boss gets coded as bitchy from a female one.

You pretty much nailed it. Very disappointing developments for the media, they are not meeting the moment, by any means.

Not at all. I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that the only national institutions we have left that aren’t completely corrupted are the Democrats and the armed forces (and yes there’s corrupt elements in both of those, but they still make an effort to police corruption in their ranks). The GOP, MSM, police, judiciary and business are all pretty far gone at this point.

Note that I’m referring to the national level. Some blue states are still reasonably governed, but the judiciary, media and police are often pretty corrupt even in those.
