Unclear on How to Proceed, MAGA Begins Playing With Itself
MAGA is essentially fumbling towards ecstasy with its recent exploratory behavior
One interesting thing that is happening amidst all the media attention on Biden is that MAGA has been like a child with its head down, kicking a rock as it plods down the street, looking for something fun to do.
They are having trouble being useful these days because most of the media is doing their main activity: relentlessly bashing Joe Biden and breathlessly concocting news about him for which to be enraged. Now they have to determine what niche to dig for themselves that will be more than just background noise. They’re just now discovering their bodies, so to speak, and so far, things are going stubbornly slowly.
Take, for example, the MAGA queen bee herself, Marjorie Taylor Greene. Rarely does she utter a Xeet that does not include something about Biden, crimes, Hunter, treason, etc. But that’s all too “in” now, apparently. Maybe focusing on all Democrats, instead of just Joe Biden will work:
Eh, doesn’t have quite the ring that singlularly threatening one person does, right? This is more boring traditional campaign stuff.
How about Charlie Kirk, who has been unusually quiet over the last week or so. Surely he’s got some deceptively edited Biden clips or something else to amuse and inform us, right? Well, not so much:
Not sure his not-so-worldly readers will understand this French election reference, but hey, worth a try, right? Keep digging, Charlie! You’ll hit something solid soon…hopefully.
We can usually go to Catturd for some great current political commentary. Let’s see what he’s talking about:
Hmm, interesting twist on a touchy subject. Maybe the racial nature of this will get him some clicks. It is notable that it’s not exactly obvious which presidential candidate he’s actually talking about here (or that he’s even talking about a presidential candidate).
What about Gunther Eagleman, a man who somehow achieved over 700k followers by posting pics of himself giving the middle finger to liberals and saying things like “No way Biden got 81 million votes. No way.” I bet he’s in tune with the MAGA crowd and will stir their negative emotions up with some new interesting topics.
Huh. Didn’t see that coming. “Dual citizenship for elected officials” as rage bait? Okay, well, I guess we’ll see where this goes.
The old stand by—the MAGA male “Karen” himself—Benny Johnson, definitely has some great Biden zingers to enlighten and enrage us, I’m sure:
Ooof. Yes. I’m sure his MAGA base will direct their ire towards Jill Biden because of an entrance theme song. The only thing worse than that is immigrants destroying the fabric of society.
Lost in the bed of their own making
Never in a million years did these people think that the media would actually latch on to their talking points so relentlessly and ubiquitously that they would become irrelevant.
Kirk did have this somewhat contemplative comment to make on the media, and while somewhat true, it definitely ignores much of media behavior over the last couple decades, most notably during the 2016 election (remember the emails?):
Perhaps we are watching a breakup of Dems and the media. But what's even more shocking is the relative quiet and disorientation from the MAGA crowd. Their rage machine seems to be sputtering. They are scrambling to find other rageful material and just can’t seem to find their footing.
This is the unspoken thing that MAGA doesn’t want you to know: they don’t actually want to achieve their “goals” (whatever they are, if they actually exist). Or, better put, they don’t want the things they complain about to actually be resolved, because the end goal is the complaining.
Railing on the media, Joe Biden, the uni-party, etc. is the purpose. Once these issues go away, or are taken up by another entity, they have to, and eventually will, find other topics to create rage about.
The current media obsession about Joe Biden has sucked the air out of them and they are quietly panicking. Even though their point of view is currently popular, instead of celebrating they are panicking because they are attention hounds and click baiters.
The Xitter platform literally rewards people monetarily for clicks, views, and interactions. Once their posts become less relevant, and therefore have less reason to be clicked on or interacted with, their livelihood starts dwindling away as well.
Some have already started bashing Kamala Harris, using the usual racist, misogynist, and birther tropes that they recently used on previous Democratic nominees. Of course, this only will work for them if she becomes the nominee, which is still technically possible. But right now, they are trying to cover all bases, to prime their audience for the transition into the next grievance-sphere.
Which is very ironic given their distaste for transitions.
